Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of detailed electrical design packages suitable for PE stamping and permitting.
- Develop essential design documentation such as:
- Load studies and single-line diagrams
- Cable/conduit schedules and plot plans
- Lighting layouts, grounding systems, and installation details
- Bills of materials and construction specifications
- Conduct site walkdowns, commissioning, and factory acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with project managers to meet quality, budget, and scheduling goals.
- Support technical scopes, proposals, and cost estimates for new opportunities.
- Provide occasional after-hours engineering support to clients as needed.
- Travel up to 25%, including air travel, for field support and client site visits.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in power system design for heavy industrial facilities (e.g., refineries, terminals, process plants).
- Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE 3000 Series, and ideally API 500 standards.
- Proficiency with:
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
- Power system modeling tools: ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower
- Relay settings and configuration tools (GE Multilin, SEL relays)
- Familiarity with motor schematics, area classification, and lightning protection systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
- FE Certification (required); PE eligibility or licensure preferred
