Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of detailed electrical design packages suitable for PE stamping and permitting.
  • Develop essential design documentation such as:
  • Load studies and single-line diagrams
  • Cable/conduit schedules and plot plans
  • Lighting layouts, grounding systems, and installation details
  • Bills of materials and construction specifications
  • Conduct site walkdowns, commissioning, and factory acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with project managers to meet quality, budget, and scheduling goals.
  • Support technical scopes, proposals, and cost estimates for new opportunities.
  • Provide occasional after-hours engineering support to clients as needed.
  • Travel up to 25%, including air travel, for field support and client site visits.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in power system design for heavy industrial facilities (e.g., refineries, terminals, process plants).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE 3000 Series, and ideally API 500 standards.
  • Proficiency with:
  • AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
  • Power system modeling tools: ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower
  • Relay settings and configuration tools (GE Multilin, SEL relays)
  • Familiarity with motor schematics, area classification, and lightning protection systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • FE Certification (required); PE eligibility or licensure preferred
